Piece details

Wooden mortar and pestle

This kitchen set pairs a pale ash mortar with a pestle shaped from a denser exotic wood. The contrast between the two species highlights the simple, generous forms of each piece. The mortar provides a stable base and a deep bowl, while the pestle is designed for a comfortable grip when crushing spices, seeds, herbs and other aromatics. A food-safe oil protects the wood and reveals its natural grain. Each set can be made to order and adapted in size and wood species according to the timber available.
